Daily Breeze-Pilot“Terence Mix is a well-known and respected South Bay attorney and president of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association. Victor Rosen is an equally-respected doctor whose ‘credits’ include medical advisor responsibilities for the ‘Quincy’ TV series. Together they have collaborated in an interesting story about international intrigue in very high places. Malpractice attorney Jonathan Rand finds himself involved in a plot by Cuba to take over our government.”
“Both Mix and Rosen demonstrate expert knowledge of the respective fields, and such background authenticity serves them – and the reader – well. A Question of Judgment moves along well, with a minimum of bluster and filibuster. Worth a hearing on all counts.”
Synopsis
When attorney Jonathan Rand takes on what seems like a routine malpractice case, he uncovers a web of political corruption that reaches the highest levels of government. Dr. Aaron Feinerman’s mysterious death wasn’t medical negligence…it was murder.
“I can kill without emotion. And I need little reason to do so. If we have no business, you might well get a firsthand view of my unique talent.”
As Jonathan digs deeper, he discovers that the respected physician had been treating presidential hopeful Senator Bradley Armstrong in secret hypnotherapy sessions. But Aaron learned something during that final session—something worth killing for. When Jonathan and his girlfriend Danielle find Aaron’s hidden tape recording, they realize they’re now targets themselves.
“And now he’s about to blow Operation Spiderweb to pieces. Twenty-seven million dollars… years of planning… and you blow it all with incompetent personnel.”
From Connecticut hospitals to the Caribbean, from Washington power corridors to deadly hotel rooms, Jonathan races against time to expose a $27 million conspiracy. But Senator Armstrong and his ruthless assistant Simon Crenshaw will stop at nothing to protect their dark secrets.
“You’re dead… you and your girl. And if forced to, I’d kill you as quickly as I’d step on an ant.”
In a world where truth is more dangerous than lies and political ambition trumps human life, Jonathan must survive long enough to reveal the shocking truth about America’s next president. Because when you’re up against unlimited power and wealth, even justice has a price.
Some secrets are worth dying for. Others are worth killing for.
Press Reviews
John Charnay · Los Angeles Herald Examiner“Terence Mix (president of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association) and Victor Rosen, MD (the medical advisor for the TV series, ‘Quincy’), have written a timely and often suspenseful thriller which mixes murder with international intrigue. Its protagonist is a charming and bright young attorney who stumbles on a plot by Cuba to infiltrate and take over our government. There is also a romance – as a young woman becomes involved with him in unraveling the conspiracy. The authors use their knowledge of their respective fields to good advantage.”
